Dandelion Salve

Homespun Seasonal Living

Dandelion salve is an easy homemade herbal remedy to make with just a few simple ingredients plentiful in the early spring.

It’s a quick project with less than 20 minutes of hands-on time, meaning you can get back to enjoying the spring season instead of working in the kitchen.

Ingredients:

– Olive Oil – Fresh Dandelion Heads – Beeswax Pastilles

Step 1

In the bottom of a double boiler, place an inch of water and bring to a boil. Keep the water simmering.

Step 2

In the top of the double boiler, combine the dandelion flower heads and oil.

Step 3

Let the oil and dandelions sit and stay warm (but not frying) on top of the boiling water for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Strain the flowers from the oil into a clean bowl. Wipe out the top of the double boiler to remove any flower petals.

Step 5

Add more water to the bottom of the double boiler if necessary and keep simmering.
