In this soulful episode, Kathie reflects on what it means to live in rhythm with the earth while navigating the expectations of a constantly “on” society. As the golden light of September begins to tilt and the pace of the world refuses to slow, she invites us to honor nature’s cycles and reclaim a quieter, more intentional way of living.
“We aren’t made to bloom all year long.”
Kathie shares a personal and practical exploration of seasonal living—what it is, what it isn’t, and why it matters. It’s not about perfection, opting out of modern life, or moving off-grid. It’s about noticing what’s happening outside your window, aligning your energy with the seasons, and allowing yourself to live more fully, not more frantically.
“Living seasonally in a 24-7 world is a rebellion. A quiet one—but powerful.”
Listeners will find comfort and clarity in her tangible tips—tracking small changes in nature, building seasonal rituals, adjusting schedules based on energy levels, and releasing the myth that constant productivity is the only way to succeed.
“Plan around nature, not just the calendar.”
In a world that glorifies hustle and convenience, this episode is a gentle reminder that slowing down isn’t giving up—it’s coming home.

Four and a half years ago my husband and I moved from Southern California (the land of no seasons) to Flagstaff, Arizona (a mountain town with four distinct seasons). Having lived in California all my life, I really enjoy seasonal living now. There is something to look forward to with each season. Honestly, my favorite is what some would consider the hardest season here- winter. We’ve recently had recording-breaking years of snowfall but to me it is novel. Yes, shoveling snow is not fun but I enjoy the quiet reflectiveness of the season.
